So my BlackBerry server is up, but my BlackBerry isn't getting messages from it. I'm giving Sprint Corporate Sales/Support the chance to demonstrate whether they're a crack team or just on crack.

It's very likely that I'm not getting messages because the sales team didn't sell me the right add-ons for my "Everything BlackBerry" service contract (which isn't "Everything" but rather is "Everything but Enterprise Support") to allow the server to send me stuff.

I remember every once in awhile IT would have us regenerate our encryption keys, because the server would just *forget*. This was, IIRC, Cingular service through a dedicated corp exchange server, but it was almost a universal panacea for our Blackberry issues.

I'm running the BlackBerry Enterprise Server myself, and re-provisioned and resent service books over USB. Can't get much more reset than that (well, besides wiping and reactivating).

It's a new BlackBerry, it's new service, and there's a really good chance that Sprint sales has no idea what they're supposed to be selling us to support the BES. It's a really common issue with new customers setting up a new BES.

Ok, first when was the last time your BES talked to your BB, you can look on the BES and see last time connected, if it looks like they are talking but just no email, try resending the service book from the BES server, also just make sure you have "Wireless Email Sync" sent to true.

If they ahve not talked in awhile go ahead and do another Enterprise Activaion over the air. this will make sure your IT Policy and service book are in sync

just to make sure try re-registering the BB on the network (settings-Option-Advance options-Host Routing Table- Click the BB button and select "Regsiter Now" You should then get a message that your BB is registerd on the network, if not call sprint.

Let me know how it works out

It's talking fine with the other two BBs that we set up (my manager and my other admin), just not with mine.

I can only get to Enterprise Activation through the setup wizard. Last week it was an item in "Advanced Options" but it's not there anymore, which is why I think something that Sprint or RIM updated.

I think you are correct. I have seen this before and cant remember if it was either calling the carrier or re-installing the firmware, but I do think calling sprint would be the way to go at this point.

I've got a meeting Monday with our contract administrator. Then we call Sprint.

The sales guy was on crack. The tech support guy was great (well, once I escalated through a non-BB support department and a level-1 BB support department to the expert level).

The new blackberries aren't even on the plan he thought they were, and mine was missing the "BES buy-up" add-on. Working like a champ now.

I was not involved, but when my $emp first set up BES, it was a pain to get it talking at first. Not near as smooth as the vendor (BB direct and Verizon) promised it would be.
