Haa-haaaa-haaaaa. Yer funny. Odds are I will have more people working in my room this weekend than at conXtreme. Heck, I know there'll be more people at Richard's.
I demand a con report! --- from anysuckerone who bothered to go, that is, because I know that whatever after-report will be posted on the website will be all sorts of hooey like last year's....
David, Chris, Tadao and I went down there last night, promptly doubling the amount of paid attendees.
That said, I did have a good time. We spend a good deal of that time in the bar, though.
Pros: Opening ceremonies were fun, they had a good band beforehand and then brought in a cake for Antonio Fargas' birthday and had a belly dancer come out and dance for/with him, she was good too. Rob Miles and the rest of the crew running it have been super friendly and seem very enthusiastic.
Cons: No badges yet (they had wristbands for now), no program book or schedule, no posted hours (that I saw) for the dealers room, no real information other than a band lineup.
So it's not the catastrophe it was last year, but so far there not much there there.
I'm gonna swing by later today and check out the dealers room and so on for completeness.

Date: 2008-08-30 06:31 am (UTC)ConQuest and DragonCon have probably sucked up all the local con-going fen.
Generous amounts of sarcasm spread here.
