So y'all remember this?

Well, I found some more.

[livejournal.com profile] supersniffles pointed these out...

The white/blue and white/gray (color refers to the ground and "blueprint" lines color) are on sale for $4/yd at reprodepot.com. The blue/white is on sale at Honey Fork Fabrics, for $6.79 a yard.

But that's not all. I decided to do a bit of searching.

There's also the (out-of-print, apparently) Alexander Henry "Beach Boys"

Haven't been able to actually find any, though.

Timeless treasures has a pair of beefcake prints.

I found (and lost) a larger scan from this print. Not quite so good. The one fireman looks like Bill Clinton.

The policemen look a bit better, though.

Robert Kaufman fabrics also did a beefcake print.

It's from their "Photo Gallery Prints" collection apparently.

This is too funny. You think there's market for custom 24" x X 10 ft prints? :-)

Is there a market for custom prints that can be done on 24"x3yard panels? Sure. Can the folks who are interested afford the price? Depends on how much it costs to print the panels...

Actually, where there would probably be a market is for shirt patterns with a custom print only on the pattern pieces, set up to make sure that the print matches when it's assembled.

That would take a lot of Adobe Illustrator, though.

Artistically, I think the cowboy print is still the best...

The construction workers are much more cartoony, but not bad. The Beach Boys are pretty good, particularly on a blue ground (which I wasn't able to find a good picture of).

DUDE XD

I actually like the fireman one the best, just cuz I like their bodies the most and they seem the least...flamey XD Maybe if it were larger I'd see the Clintonesque one and change my mind ;-)

There's a close-up here (http://www.virginiaquilter.com/cgi-local/SoftCart.exe/online-store/scstore/p-TT7117.html?L+scstore+flff9905ff221122+1182971095). It's one of the first images I saw of the print. You've got a young Harrison Ford with the dalmatian (good) and a young-ish Bill Clinton in the t-shirt (with awful hair). In the close-up the faces also look pretty distorted, and these are huuuge repeats (probably 10" tall figures).

Hah!

[personal profile] khaybee won the Hawaiian shirt contest at the Locus awards with an Aloha shirt made of the "Beach Boys" fabric on the red background and this week bought the construction worker print for her next shirt!

I've been trying to find the "Beach Boys" fabric (it does look great on blue) but all that I've run into is folks selling it on eBay for what ends up working out to $20/yard usually.

Ah yes Wranglers is one of those patterns that amuse me. I have WAY TOO MUCH MONEY tied up in amusing Alexander Henry style fabrics. XD

Someone just won the Hawaiian Shirt Competition at the Locus Awards wearing a shirt made from the surfer boys, hmmm. Yeah it was someone we know!
I was at the Pike Place Market in Seattle yesterday, and saw someone selling potholders and aprons made of all that fabric, and more.
Can you imagine giving a set of those as a wedding gift to some ultra conservative????

Heeeee.
