Project madness...

Well...

There's 40 yards of white flax linen sitting in the front hall. It's a pretty standard "universal" weight (i.e. heavy enough for slacks, but light enough for a heavy shirt). There are 10 yards each of dark red and dark green hemp/soy fine "cross linen" on order.

Will be ordering some neopaque fabric paint, but haven't decided quite on what color yet.

oooh....

Where do you order from, and can I beg a scrap of the green? I'm going to be needing something suitable for pants for medieval-ish outfits for the guys in my wedding party...

Pickering International (http://www.pickhemp.com/). They're a wholesale house, and there's a steep surcharge on cuts under 10 yards. There are photos on the web of the materials, but call them up and spend the $15 for an "all fabrics, all colors" swatch pack. It's worth it, and it will get you the price list too. There aren't a lot of colors, though.

If you're not set on hemp, check out fabrics-store.com (http://www.fabrics-store.com/) for linen. That's where I got the white linen, and they do carry colors. Their prices are pretty good, and they have some real bargains sometimes.
