The DeFrank Center hosted its first gay prom this weekend. Their "Oscars After-Party" theme played out well. ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
kproche and I were asked to appear as "celebrity chaperones" to help support the theme; Kevin because he is Emperor and myself because (with a touch of make-up) I bear a passing resemblance to Dr. Evil.
It had been quite a while since the gay youth groups at the center had any sort of dance, so when we showed up the party was in full swing. The music was running, the ballroom was packed with kids, everybody was having a great time. As for the chaperoning bit, the kids were very well behaved; no inappropriate naughtiness in the hidden corners.
Big thanks to Rick Oculto and the rest of the staff at the DeFrank Center for throwing together an excellent event.
