We have room. We have balcony king Friday through Tuesday. $30/night more than a regular room, but (in theory) less of a crackerbox. Not checking in on Thursday because we're not throwing a party. Have an "early check-in" request in our reservation.

I also have a room reservation, but only for Friday-Sunday nights, with an early check-in request on Friday. I asked for the "Great America side of the hotel" to watch the big fireworks show on Saturday night.

We decided the crackerbox rooms and massive allergy attacks were not worth it.

We're making reservations in the Hilton across the street. $5 more a night and a better cheaper breakfast.

themanabides posted a video last year of the balcony king he and misanthrope_mom were given. The alcove for the desk makes a positive difference, IMO.
