This is the reason I went with a ReadyNAS instead of a TeraStation.
NetGear maintained the Infrant support structure when they bought Infrant, and their tech support people are some of the best in the industry. Most of their support staff participates in the online forums, so the support there is great.
Buffalo's tech support is also legendary, but not in a good way.
I considered Linksys for a while (I love their networking gear), but the support for their NAS appliances has nearly as bad a reputation as Buffalo.
