Holy Mother of God!

Bonhams is auctioning off The Angels Star Collection of Film and TV costumes.

That's Angels, as in Angels and Berman, noted London costume shop and supplier to innumerable production houses, including the BBC.

It's 362 lots.

It includes complete costumes for Doctors 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7. It had #9's jacket, but that lot was withdrawn.

It includes one of Sir Alec Guiness' Obi Wan Kenobi cloaks.

Check out the catalog. Nearly every lot has a photo.

Oh! My! Tell me it's a Good Thing (tm) that the photos aren't detailed enough to make a copy of any of that.

Some of these pics ARE going to be used as costume references.

I'm slightly surprised they think a McGoohan jacket from The Prisoner will go for less than a suit from The Saint. I know the latter show ran for far longer, but the cult value is just not the same.

Damn you!

Wow... that's an incredible collection.

Quite an amazing collection of items. I can see some of the DW stuff going higher than anticipated.

Of course, being the smartass I am, I'm awaiting a fake lot number for Captain Jack Harkness's birthday suit.

Dave says we'll have to sell the place in order to get what he wants.
(We don't own, and he didn't say what he wanted).
I haven't seen the entire site yet, but does the SFM know about this?
At the Farscape Auction, I told the winners that they could "lend" their investment to them. One lady who won Aeryn Sun's leather coat actually contacted them about the loan possiblity.
Sigh. Someone needs to send this link to Paul Allen!

Andy?
You started it!

Aieee! I so don't have time to look through all this. Luckily, I appear to have distracted [livejournal.com profile] major_clanger into paging through it and pointing out good bits :-)

Knightsbridge is not far from us - I could, like, go to the auction in my copious free time

Many years ago when Angels was Bernam and Nathans, my other half picked up some costumes at an auction there which included a Moonraker jumpsuit. This sale has one of those with an estimate of £1000 - £1500. OMG!! Guess you could add a 0 to the estimates for the Doctor Who costumes at the very least.

Do you plan on bidding on anything? If so, good luck! Maybe you could buy a physical copy of the catalog!

Arrg! I wonder if there's any way to find out what size Ian McKellen was when he played "Richard III"? I really faunch after those uniforms and the expect bid price is not out of sight--.
